An article about tribute albums featured a sampling of current collections, including the Killer Queen tribute album. Written by Edna Gunderson, of USAToday, the article is mostly unfavorable of the album:
American Idol finalist Constantine Maroulis reprises his Bohemian Rhapsody histrionics from last season, only now he's joined by the Queen-hailing We Will Rock You cast of the British musical. So yes, this tribute does capture some of the original band's pomposity and flamboyance. Flaming Lips provides a less grating version of Rhapsody, and Joss Stone's Under Pressure is bearable, but the rest of Killer is deadly."
