John absent due to illness?

A report on the induction ceremony states that John may have been absent due to an illness.

"It means more than all the Grammys we never got," said Taylor. He and May were accompanied onstage by the mother of flamboyant singer Freddie Mercury, who died of AIDS in 1991. Bassist John Deacon was a no-show, reportedly because of an illness.
