Barry George was originally arrested as Barry Bulsara (Freddie's orininal last nice) and claimed that he was the brother / cousin of Freddie Mercury and first met Jill Dando when she interviewed Freddie Mercury in the 1980's.

Reportedly Barry George had many pictures of Freddie at his house, made to look as though he knew Freddie personally, rather than just being a fan.
