After 2 years of working on Axl Rose's Chinese Democracy album Roy Thomas Baker was fired for unknown reasons. Baker produced the first four Queen albums as well as the Jazz album. Queen never fired him :)

Ed: Not sure if "fired" is 100% correct. Axl has used quite a few different producers, musicians on the album trying to get the right sound. Maybe he just needed a change.
